Finally, I received my first issue of Bazaar for 2011! Of course, I immediately devoured it and specially enjoyed the editorial with Lily Donaldson, who is also on the cover. I think she is always so fresh faced, modern but timelessly sophisticated. Loved the wild animal inspiration and the fresh take on classics fashion spread.
There is also a great article on Tom Ford, as the “Ultimate Seducer” and his glorious comeback to women’s fashion, it is a must read.
Naturally, my absolute favorite article, is the Wonder Women article, celebrating the Important Dinner for Women in which celebrity business women like Ivanka Trump, Queen Rania Al Abdullah and Martha Stewart answered questions about their childhood dreams and how these trasnformed them into leaders. My favorite is Diane Von Furstenberg and her famed quote “She didn’t know what she wanted to do (as a child), but she knew what kind of woman she wanted to be: strong and independent.” I thought it was interesting, inspirational and uplifting. Truly touched me personally and I think is a great phrase to start the new year.
Needless to say, this issue is a must read this season. It’s great to find that there is still good content to be read in our American fashion magazines and we don’t have to always resort to the international issues as has been the case for some time now.
